ONE PEAR PLACE, WATERLOO
Project's Summary
Retail, office, and residential space are all part of a larger redevelopment project that also includes the adjacent Fire Station project and two additional nearby properties (the last two of which are owned by Kyson).
An vital anchor to the cruciform townscape has been restored thanks to the building's massing, which is based on the traditional street layout, while the articulation and materiality mediate between two unique character zones.
Baylis Road sees the structure assume the shape of two faceted building lines, while Waterloo Road sees the building take on a larger single form that responds to the size and form of The Old Vic Theatre (opposite) and the Fire Station (next door) (adjacent)
