Project's Summary

Located in the prestigious area of Paris, the 5-star hotel La Clef des Champs Elysees showcases a stunning suspended WOOD-SKIN ceiling designed by esteemed architect Jean-Philippe Nuel. This tailor-made ceiling, created with a mirrored laminate finish, not only adds a touch of glamour but also reflects the surrounding light, creating a captivating contrast with the building's Neoclassical style.

Measuring an impressive 13 meters in length, the suspended ceiling appears to float effortlessly, thanks to a specially designed frame that hangs from just three anchors. What sets this installation apart is its lightweight composition, with WOOD-SKIN weighing only 2.5 kilograms per square meter. This feature allowed for the stress-free installation of the suspended element, ensuring the preservation of the building's centuries-old structural slabs.

Beyond its decorative function, the WOOD-SKIN ceiling also serves as a directional map for the hotel's lobby, guiding guests through the space. The mirrored surface multiplies the warm glow of candlelight, creating a myriad of vibrant reflections that add to the overall ambiance. The resulting effect is both visually striking and practical, enhancing the guest experience.

The collaboration between WOOD-SKIN and architect Jean-Philippe Nuel has resulted in a remarkable addition to the 5-star hotel. The suspended ceiling not only showcases the innovative capabilities of WOOD-SKIN but also seamlessly integrates with the elegance of the Neoclassical building. This project exemplifies the harmonious fusion of modern design and historical architecture, creating a truly unique and memorable space for guests to enjoy.
