Project's Summary

Flat Legerského represents a remarkable fusion of contemporary design and functional living space, situated on an elevated ground floor within a four-storey brick residential house in Bratislava. Built in the 1960s, this corner apartment takes full advantage of its prime position, allowing the proposed interior to be visually open and inviting, capturing natural light from multiple cardinal directions. The design philosophy revolves around the investor's needs, respecting the original spatial solutions while promoting a more integrated and cohesive living environment.

The interior of flat Legerského is characterized by its innovative disposition that eschews traditional room divisions. Instead, it promotes fluidity among the main living zones—living room, dining area, and kitchen—creating a unified space that can adapt to various functions as required by the owner. This approach not only enhances the flexibility of the flat but also breaks away from the conventional one-purpose room stereotypes, giving rise to a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere where different activities can coexist harmoniously.

Attention to detail is paramount in this project, as the preserved open layout facilitates a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces. Thoughtfully chosen furniture complements the dynamic lifestyle of the investor, while the design reveals itself through intricate details that invite exploration and appreciation. Despite the open nature of the flat, the layout also prioritizes privacy, ensuring tranquility in the bedrooms and creating a balanced living environment that caters to both social interaction and personal retreat.

The material palette employed in flat Legerského showcases a deliberate choice of wood, concrete, and steel, each contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space. The use of a raw concrete wall system pays homage to the building's original design, while concrete bricks are selected for their sound insulation properties and aesthetic appeal. Additionally, the refurbished beech parquet floor retains the apartment's original charm, unifying the interior. Steel elements are incorporated into the furniture design, enhancing the modern aesthetic, while softer materials like lighting and curtains create a warm, airy ambiance.
