Project's Summary

ASWA, the Architectural Studio of Work - Ahoiic, has recently unveiled an impressive new showroom for Sesia, a renowned Thai-furniture brand. Located in the heart of Bangkok's bustling shopping mall, the showroom boasts an interior facade that draws inspiration from the brand's iconic bookshelf. This unique design element spans the entire length of the showroom, instantly capturing the attention of passersby.

One of the standout features of the showroom is the extraordinary technical detail of the bookshelf facade. This allows pedestrians to not only admire the beauty of the products from afar but also to physically interact with them. The facade also serves as a backdrop from within the showroom, creating a mesmerizing blur-effect that separates the bustling traffic outside from the serene space inside. By doing so, it encourages customers to focus solely on the furniture on display.

Another noteworthy aspect of the showroom is the incorporation of curved-rail curtains. These curtains not only divide the space but also seamlessly complement the interior facade, creating a warm and inviting ambiance reminiscent of a home. The off-white semi-transparent curtains allow both staff and customers to transform the exhibition space according to their preferences. In the future, the studio plans to utilize projection mapping on the curtains' surface, turning it into a canvas and transforming the space into an art gallery.

The showroom's office area is strategically elevated around 50 centimeters above the showroom floor. This design decision, along with the inclusion of a semi-formal business meeting area, allows for a clear view towards the entrance. It ensures that visitors are immediately drawn into the space and can fully appreciate the brand's offerings.

The materials chosen for the showroom, such as wood, polished concrete, and steel, along with the off-white curtains, perfectly complement the furniture on display. They create a harmonious environment that enhances the beauty and craftsmanship of the products. This project serves as a testament to the seamless integration of the brand's identity into an architectural language, reinforcing its unique character and setting it apart from its competitors.

Overall, ASWA's new showroom for Sesia is a testament to the power of design in capturing attention and immersing visitors in a brand's world. With its innovative use of materials, captivating facade, and versatile curtains, this space truly embodies the essence of Sesia's passion for design and craftsmanship.
