The result is a striking 2,060 square foot residence that perfectly balances affordability and thoughtful design, making it an ideal space for a young family of four.

From the outset, the primary objective for Pine House was to create a home that is both interesting and distinct, all while adhering to a budget that pushed the limits of traditional development practices. To meet this challenge, the team behind Pine House strategically chose affordable and readily available materials, assembling them in a way that allows the architectural form and rhythm to shine through. The site posed several challenges, particularly due to its location on a corner lot with stringent setback requirements. This left only 10 feet of buildable width along the alley, which could have deterred many architects. However, the team embraced these constraints, turning them into an opportunity for creativity. The architecture of Pine House features a unique design that tapers elegantly from its 19-foot width down its 79-foot length, showcasing the beauty of innovative design in the face of limitations.

The journey to creating Pine House involved invaluable front-end consultation with the Builder, which laid a solid groundwork for the project's success. The collaboration continued through to the finishing stages, where the craftsmanship of the finish carpenter played a crucial role in bringing the architectural vision to life.
