The exterior of Nowhaus immediately captivates with its stunning façade, adorned with translucent siding featuring billboards in the background. A hidden entryway and an intriguing path and steps further enhance the house's striking first impression. Inside, the home boasts an array of unique features and intricate details that lend it a sense of intrigue and character.

At Locus, our approach to building is hands-on, and this philosophy is evident in every aspect of Nowhaus. We took great pride in fabricating the concrete countertops and the copper shower surround ourselves. Additionally, we meticulously designed and constructed the steel catwalk and the sculptural hanging stairway. Our preference for handmade craftsmanship over off-the-shelf alternatives truly shines through in this extraordinary project.

One standout element of Nowhaus is the translucent polycarbonate sheathing that is seamlessly integrated both inside and outside the home. This material serves multiple purposes, chosen for its passive solar heating properties, translucency, and vibrant color characteristics. It allows natural light to transform the space, creating an ever-changing ambiance during both day and night. Moreover, it serves as a visual cue, signaling the activities taking place within the house. The clever installation method, leaving an inch and a half of airspace behind the sheathing, effectively prevents moisture build-up and eliminates the risk of siding failure. Like all the materials we use, the translucent polycarbonate sheathing exemplifies the perfect balance between practicality and artistic expression.
