Service: Plumbing
In a building, plumbing refers to the system of pipes, drains, fittings, valves, and fixtures that are placed for the distribution of potable water, the provision of heating and cooling, and the disposal of sewage. Plumbing is typically differentiated from water and sewage systems, which serve a group of buildings or a whole city, in that it serves a single structure.
The majority of big structures, such as hospitals and office skyscrapers, are equipped with a central plumbing system that services the whole structure. Depending on the size of the structure, the different plumbing systems servicing each floor may be connected by a gravity-fed main line running through each level.
