International Ideas Competition “Design a Beautiful House”
Project's Summary
The International Ideas Competition 'Design a Beautiful House' by ArchiLEM presents an innovative architectural vision that harmoniously blends with the surrounding landscape. Located in an area rich with open spaces and dense vegetation, the design prioritizes the integration of natural elements into the living environment. The emphasis on creating a landscape-centric structure rather than a standalone building reflects a deep respect for nature's beauty, allowing residents to experience seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.
This unique residence is thoughtfully divided into four interlinked blocks, each serving distinct functions while contributing to a cohesive overall design. Central to the layout is a vibrant, multicolored communal space, crowned by an outdoor swimming pool featuring a glass bottom. This striking architectural element not only enhances aesthetic appeal but also provides dynamic natural lighting within the home during sunny days. The design philosophy ensures that every room connects with nature, allowing residents to step directly from their personal spaces into beautifully landscaped areas that foster relaxation and recreation.
The building’s compact design maximizes usability while maintaining an open feel. Each block is strategically arranged around the central space, with gentle spirals leading upward, inviting occupants to explore the various levels of the home. The ramps are designed as multi-functional areas, incorporating rest zones, playgrounds, and vibrant flower beds that invite nature into everyday life. This thoughtful approach transforms vertical movement into a delightful experience, where residents can enjoy the lush surroundings and engage with their environment.
On the ground floor, the layout includes essential common areas that cater to both relaxation and functionality. A spacious entrance hall leads to a three-car garage and a workshop, while the kitchen and dining areas are designed for family gatherings. The living room, equipped with a small cinema, provides a perfect gathering space for entertainment. Additionally, accessibility is prioritized with a dedicated staircase leading to the master bedroom and other private quarters, ensuring that all family members, including those with mobility challenges, can navigate the home comfortably.
The upper levels are designed with privacy and comfort in mind, featuring the master suite, children's bedrooms, and guest accommodations, all equipped with bathrooms and dressing rooms. The incorporation of a health center, complete with a gym and swimming pool, reflects a modern approach to wellness, making it a sanctuary for the family. Overall, the International Ideas Competition 'Design a Beautiful House' embodies a commitment to creating a living space that not only meets the needs of its inhabitants but also enhances the beauty of its natural surroundings.
