Project's Summary

GASTROPORT is an innovative dining establishment located in the picturesque city of Perm, Russian Federation. Nestled along the scenic banks of the Kama River, this restaurant offers a unique culinary experience that captivates the senses. Designed by the talented Artemy Saranin of ALLARTSDESIGN in collaboration with restaurateur Boris Kulinskiy, GASTROPORT showcases a harmonious blend of Japanese and Peruvian gastronomy. With its panoramic windows, diners can enjoy breathtaking views of the river while indulging in exquisite dishes that celebrate the rich flavors and traditions of both culinary worlds.

The architectural concept of GASTROPORT is a testament to modern design, featuring a striking industrial aesthetic that reflects the city’s vibrant spirit. Using a combination of wood, cement, and brick, the designers have created an inviting space that is both functional and stylish. The interior design is characterized by high ceilings and open spaces, allowing for a dynamic flow between the various zones of the restaurant. The layout includes an open kitchen, a lively bar, and a cozy mezzanine, each area thoughtfully designed to enhance the dining experience.

One of the standout features of GASTROPORT is its open kitchen, where guests can witness the culinary magic unfold. This transparency fosters an engaging atmosphere, allowing diners to appreciate the artistry behind each dish. The bar area, crafted from solid birch sourced from the northern regions, complements the overall design while offering an extensive selection of beverages to pair with the diverse menu. The meticulous attention to detail extends to the restroom facilities, where fashionable strip designs and custom door handles made from northern birch create a cohesive aesthetic throughout the venue.

The concept of Nikkei cuisine, which blends Japanese and Peruvian elements, is at the heart of GASTROPORT’s menu. This unique culinary fusion is rooted in history, tracing back to the arrival of Japanese immigrants in Peru during the late 19th century. Today, the culinary landscape in Peru is enriched by this influence, with fresh fish served alongside traditional ingredients such as corn and sweet potatoes. GASTROPORT pays homage to this rich heritage, offering dishes that celebrate the vibrant flavors and techniques from both cultures. Each plate is a testament to the artistry and innovation of the chefs, inviting diners to explore a world of taste.

In summary, GASTROPORT is more than just a restaurant; it is a culinary journey that reflects the harmony of Japanese and Peruvian traditions, set against the stunning backdrop of the Kama River. With a commitment to quality, creativity, and an unforgettable dining experience, GASTROPORT stands out as a must-visit destination in Perm. Whether you are a local resident or a traveler seeking new flavors, GASTROPORT promises an exceptional experience that will linger in your memory long after the last bite.
