Digital Design Project at ROMAX Café by VIKA-taller

At ROMAX Café in Coatepeque, a remarkable digital design and manufacturing project has been brought to life by VIKA-taller. This innovative initiative focuses on enhancing the café's aesthetic appeal while creating functional spaces that invite customers to relax and enjoy their experience. The project showcases the expertise of Victoria Tiu, who meticulously designed and diagrammed every element to ensure a seamless integration of beauty and utility.

One of the standout features of this project is the digitally fabricated wall, which has been designed specifically to house lush terrariums and vibrant plants. Constructed from high-quality 17mm thick plywood, the wall's intricate design is achieved through advanced CNC router technology. This precision fabrication not only ensures a stunning visual effect but also allows for durability and sustainability, making it a perfect addition to the café's interior.

The ceiling of ROMAX Café has also undergone a transformative redesign, featuring a parametric design that reflects the natural flow of circulation within the space. By highlighting key points of concentration, this innovative concept guides patrons through the café, creating an engaging and dynamic environment. In addition to the captivating wall and ceiling designs, the project introduces a simulated flow bar that measures approximately 5.00 meters. Crafted from 1-inch thick MDF and shaped using CNC routing, the bar mimics the fluidity of movement within the café, creating a natural transition between different areas. This design element not only provides functionality but also serves as a visual centerpiece that draws customers in, enhancing the inviting atmosphere of ROMAX Café.
