The BEST OF RUSSIA Exhibition Space represents a remarkable fusion of architecture and art, designed by the talented team at Nowadays office. Located in the vibrant city of Moscow, this exhibition venue serves as a testament to the creative potential of repurposed industrial spaces.

Polished grey concrete floor extends into spacious, high-ceilinged minimalist industrial gallery.

Housed within a former factory, the exhibition space spans two distinct shop floors, each with its own character and design philosophy. The top floor, originally a white wine shop, features a high ceiling and a square layout, providing a neutral backdrop for the showcased works. Here, the design team cleverly incorporated cruciform exhibition stands, creating a dynamic environment that enhances the viewer's experience and reflects the essence of perspective, a core element of photography.

In contrast, the bottom floor, once a red wine shop, offers a more intimate setting with its brick walls and vaulted ceilings. The Nowadays team adopted a minimalist approach for the exhibition stands in this space, allowing them to visually recede into the background. This design choice ensures that the audience's focus remains on the exhibits themselves, fostering a deep appreciation for the art within the powerful architectural context.

The careful consideration of spatial dynamics and visitor engagement in the BEST OF RUSSIA Exhibition Space demonstrates the innovative capabilities of modern architecture. The design not only showcases exceptional works of photography but also encourages dialogue between the audience and the environment, making each visit a unique experience.

Furthermore, the transformation of this former factory into a cultural hub exemplifies the growing trend of adaptive reuse in architecture. By breathing new life into old structures, the Nowadays office not only preserves the historical fabric of Moscow but also contributes to the city's ongoing narrative as a center for arts and culture. The BEST OF RUSSIA Exhibition Space is more than just a venue; it is a celebration of creativity, innovation, and the power of design.
