PC House - Innovative Architecture by Agraz Arquitectos
Project's Summary
PC House stands as a remarkable testament to modern architecture, designed by the visionary Agraz Arquitectos S.C. The project, spearheaded by architects Ricardo Agraz and Karina Castro, is an exploration of innovative forms that harmonize with its environment. Nestled in the picturesque region of Zapopan, Jalisco, this dwelling exemplifies a perfect marriage of functionality and aesthetics, tailored specifically for family living. The design philosophy revolves around embracing the natural landscape, allowing the river’s course to inform the home's layout and orientation.

The architectural narrative of PC House unfolds as one enters, where the living and dining areas extend into the backyard, creating a seamless connection with nature. The use of Spanish ivory marble slabs not only enhances the visual appeal but also provides a sense of continuity throughout the frontal spaces. Central to the first floor is a striking water fountain, a captivating focal point that invites tranquility into the home. The entrance, characterized by a robust steel art piece created by the architects themselves, sets a tone of elegance and artistic expression, aptly named 'Family' to symbolize unity and togetherness.

The first floor is meticulously designed to accommodate the diverse needs of a modern family. It features discreet parking for up to three vehicles, a conveniently located small bathroom, and a family studio that fosters creativity and collaboration. The heart of the home lies in the spacious kitchen and dining areas, alongside inviting living rooms that are perfect for gatherings. Additionally, a generous terrace extends the living space outdoors, offering a tranquil retreat for relaxation and leisure amidst the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Ascending to the upper floor, PC House reveals a more intimate sanctum dedicated to the master bedroom and children's quarters. This level is a celebration of luxury, with bathrooms that reflect meticulous attention to detail and a refined use of materials. The elegant combination of wood and Spanish marble throughout ensures a warm, inviting atmosphere that resonates with quality craftsmanship. Every aspect of the design is thoughtfully executed, echoing the architects’ vision of a harmonious living space that transcends mere functionality.

The construction of PC House, completed in 2006, is a collaborative effort enriched by the expertise of general contractor Sergio Pacheco and a talented team of collaborators. From woodwork to aluminum fittings, lighting design, and interior aesthetics, each element contributes to the overall narrative of the home. Photographed brilliantly by Mito Covarrubias, PC House is not just a residence; it is an architectural story that invites you to experience the intersection of art, nature, and modern living.
