The MYTHOLOGICAL MUSEUM, envisioned by ZROBIM architects, stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of pre-Christian culture. Nestled within the serene landscapes of the Berezinsky Reserve in Belarus, this museum seeks to illuminate the ancient beliefs and ways of life of our ancestors. The project emerges from a profound need to preserve and present a narrative that is often overlooked in contemporary society. Through innovative architectural design, the museum encapsulates the essence of paganism, offering visitors a unique journey into a world filled with myths, legends, and untold stories.

The chosen site, an old forester's house, serves as a poignant metaphor for the lives of pre-Christian peoples who inhabited small villages and farms. By concealing the windows during the renovation, ZROBIM architects have created an air of mystery, reflecting the obscurity surrounding ancient traditions today. This design choice echoes the challenge of accessing knowledge about the pre-Christian era, as much of it remains hidden from view, similar to the concealed interiors of the museum itself. Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted by a striking entrance featuring a skeletal frame that mimics the silhouette of sacred structures, symbolizing the remnants of a once-thriving belief system. The reversed perspective system of the annexe walls creates a sense of dissonance, evoking the magical and mythical dimensions of the world as perceived by ancient peoples. The central tree within the annexe stands as a vital symbol of the interconnectedness of the underground world, the realm of humanity, and the heavens. Inside, the museum is thoughtfully divided into three thematic rooms representing the three worlds: the underground, the terrestrial, and the celestial.
