He was born in Turkey, raised in Germany, and studied architecture at prestigious institutions such as the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, Peter Behrens School of Architecture in Düsseldorf, and the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London, where he received his Master of Architectural Design degree with Distinction.

Alkanoglu's research and design work have garnered recognition and have been exhibited at esteemed institutions like the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
