King's Road Park: New Homes & Green Spaces in London
St William, a Berkeley Group company, is redefining urban living with its ambitious King’s Road Park project in London. Phase four of this masterplan has received the green light, bringing with it an impressive blend of residential and natural spaces. This development will introduce 357 new homes and 1.9 acres of newly designed parkland, offering a refreshing oasis in the heart of the city. At the core of this project are the architectural designs by the renowned Foster + Partners, featuring two slender residential towers standing at 28 and 38 storeys, alongside a seven-storey podium building. These structures not only promise high-quality living spaces but also seamlessly integrate with the abundant greenery surrounding them, thanks to the collaborative efforts with landscape designers, Gillespies.

The design ethos of King’s Road Park revolves around creating a harmonious balance between urban architecture and natural landscapes. The residential towers and podium are strategically situated on the eastern side of the masterplan, providing residents with stunning views over the central park. The park itself is a vibrant hub of community life, centered around a restored Grade II* listed gasholder, and is designed to foster an engaging outdoor experience for all. Dual-aspect apartments ensure light-filled interiors, while corner balconies offer panoramic vistas of the city and the lush park below. A rooftop garden on the podium, complete with a louvred canopy, provides a tranquil escape for residents, offering protection from the elements year-round.

The innovative design of King’s Road Park also emphasizes sustainability and connectivity. By reducing the number of towers and expanding their floorplates, the development significantly lowers its embodied carbon footprint while meeting future fire safety standards. This thoughtful approach enhances views and increases daylight penetration into the park by an impressive 59 percent. The increased distance between towers not only enlarges the park area but also strengthens the connection between King’s Road and Imperial Wharf station, making it a more accessible and enjoyable journey for residents and visitors alike. The architectural language of the towers, with their vertical emphasis and terracotta-clad façades, complements the existing urban skyline and responds to the local architectural vernacular.

The new parkland, developed in collaboration with Gillespies, is a testament to the project's commitment to enhancing biodiversity and community well-being. This expansive green space includes a community park, public square, children’s play areas, and scenic walking routes, providing a welcoming habitat for both people and wildlife. As part of a larger 6-acre network of open landscapes, King’s Road Park is set to achieve a biodiversity net gain of approximately 112 percent. This ambitious project was shaped through extensive collaboration with the Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s planning team and local stakeholders, ensuring that the development aligns with community needs and aspirations.

King's Road Park is situated in one of London’s most vibrant districts, known for its rich history and cultural diversity. The area boasts excellent transport links, with easy access to Imperial Wharf and Fulham Broadway stations, making it a prime location for both living and investment. Notably, this district has been home to several famous figures, including rock legend Mick Jagger and fashion icon Vivienne Westwood, adding an air of glamour and prestige to the neighborhood. With its blend of modern design, sustainable living, and cultural heritage, King’s Road Park offers a unique opportunity to be part of a thriving community in the heart of London.
