The ZENDOME.300M: Immersive Media Experience at Floriade2012
Project's Summary
The ZENDOME.300M captivated audiences from around the world at Floriade2012, a unique event that only takes place once every ten years. This magnificent geodesic dome provided the perfect projection surface for a breathtaking 360°-event on a one-of-a-kind noise-free Immersive Media Screen. As the international gardening expo in Venlo commenced, the two million visitors were welcomed inside the shimmering silver dome to embark on their tour.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the expo, the shared cupola pavilion, designed by the Dutch Gardening Organisation, beckoned 30,000 garden enthusiasts, culture aficionados, children, and their parents to immerse themselves in the captivating theme worlds of the garden show. The dome's vacuum technology, which could be controlled remotely, ensured an optimal visual and immersive experience for all attendees throughout the exhibition.
The conceptualization and realization of "THE DOME..." were masterfully executed by the Dutch agency DST Experience Communications from Baarn. Their innovative ideas brought to life this extraordinary project created by the ZENDOME GmbH architectural studio. The result was an awe-inspiring display that left everyone in awe, showcasing the limitless possibilities of immersive technology.
The ZENDOME.300M at Floriade2012 was truly a groundbreaking achievement. Its ability to provide a flawless projection surface and a noise-free immersive experience made it a standout attraction at the international gardening expo. Visitors were transported to a world where the boundaries of reality were pushed, and their senses were stimulated in ways they had never imagined. The collaborative efforts of the Dutch Gardening Organisation, DST Experience Communications, and ZENDOME GmbH have left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of experiencing this remarkable installation.
