MTH Office
Project's Summary
MTH Office, designed by Architectural bureau PROJECT905, serves as a unique workspace within the Museum of Telephone History. This innovative design not only reflects the history of telecommunications but also fosters creativity and collaboration among its users. The project was initiated by Mastertel, a prominent telecom service provider, aiming to create a functional environment that inspires productivity and engagement.
The design approach for MTH Office emphasizes efficiency and user experience. The layout strategically places meeting rooms, restrooms, and storage areas along a blank wall while the dynamic workspaces, reception area, co-working zone, and café are situated by expansive front windows. This arrangement allows for a seamless flow of activities, encouraging interaction and teamwork while providing ample natural light to enhance the overall ambiance.
Occupying the attic floor, MTH Office faces the common challenge of low ceilings. To overcome this, attic windows were installed, transforming the interior into a brighter, airier space. The main open-plan workspace features modular desks that can be reconfigured to meet changing needs, ensuring that the office remains adaptable to different tasks and team sizes. A long central desk runs the length of the reception through to the café, effectively connecting various functional areas of the office.
A standout visual feature of MTH Office is the end wall crafted from plywood panels. This element not only contrasts with the mural located downstairs, but it also serves as a defining characteristic of the space, infusing it with a distinctive identity. The choice of plywood, known for its light color and warmth, reflects both an aesthetic preference and a commitment to budget-conscious design, making it an ideal material for this project.
In conclusion, MTH Office exemplifies how thoughtful architectural design can create an inspiring and functional workspace. By leveraging natural materials and a layout that promotes interaction, PROJECT905 has successfully delivered a project that meets the practical needs of its users while instilling a sense of creativity and energy essential for a modern office environment.
